Radical (Synposis)

Present-day Washington D.C. In an election year. Corruption.
Terrorist threats. Powerbrokering. Business as usual. Although
Internet voting software has existed for years, computer geek Thomas
Bridger has created the killer app: the security code that would
make it safe for people to vote in political elections using the
Internet. Who cares? For starters, the President of the United
States, the FBI, and Bridger’s father (a status-quo Senator, in the
beginning stages of Alzheimer’s).
But just having a new election-day toy won’t increase voter turnout.
What would?
Enter Leesha Dormont, a ‘Ghost Walk’ tour guide in MLK’s Selma,
Alabama. A minimum-wage bottom-feeder? Hardly. Seven years ago,
Leesha wrote a radical—some say treasonous—document. The first
chapter cross-pollinated all over the Internet and fired up more
feelings than the Unabomber Manifesto. The twist? No one knows
Leesha’s the author. Not yet, anyway. And what about the two
additional chapters that no one’s ever seen? The next presidential
election is only a few months away, and it’s a race against the
calendar. The president and the entire intelligence community are
waiting for the next clue—that is, if the election can’t be rigged,
or their best assassin can’t handle the job. And what about the
200,000 people who show up in the nation’s capitol to check out the
possibilities? Will Bridger and Leesha stay true to their ideals?
Will democracy cease to exist? Washington D.C. and the world are
about to find out.
