My Favorite Article of the Week:
Can You Actually Grow Old as a Creative?
This week I'm sharing Creative Boom, an independent online magazine founded by journalist and editor Katy Cowan that provides inspiration, career advice, and practical guidance for artists, designers, writers, and other creative professionals.
This article explores a question many of us quietly wonder about: does creativity fade with age, or can it continue to grow and evolve throughout our lives? The article argues that experience, perspective, and curiosity may become some of a creative person's greatest strengths as the years pass

🤔💭 What's The Issue with Creatives Growing Old?
As an older novelist still working on new projects, I was naturally drawn to this question.
And I think many creatives worry that inspiration, innovation, and relevance fade with age.
This article challenges that assumption and explores whether creativity is really tied to youth or if it can continue evolving throughout life.
I've been a long-time admirer of Tom May's work, primarily on Katy Cowan's Creative Boom- one fo my all-time favorite websites.
Tom May's articles are interesting, succinct, and talented, although he specializes in design and creativity, with over two decades in journalism, and he is a regular contributor to Computer Arts, net, ImagineFX and Professional Photography.
And, his Creative Boom headlines never fail to pull me into the article, and his endings are superb!
[Spoiler] As an example, here's his ending to this article: "The creatives who've figured it out aren't the ones fighting to stay relevant. They're the ones who decided relevance was the wrong measure to begin with."

This entire TED Talk is built around the idea that creativity is not reserved for the young.
McLeese argues that many people mistakenly believe creativity declines with age when, in reality, it can be rediscovered and strengthened later in life.
The message closely mirrors the theme of the Creative Boom article.
Experience and aging can become creative assets rather than limitations.
